Sevil Üstekin, who won the hearts of television viewers with the character “Müzevir Müzeyyen” and passed away at the age of 79, was sent off on her final journey.
The funeral prayer of the master actor, who is etched in memories with the characters he played in Yeşilçam films, was performed following the noon prayer at Erenköy Galippaşa Mosque.
The ceremony, where Üstekin’s family accepted condolences, was attended by the artist’s friends, relatives and loved ones.

Artist Erol Evgin, in his statement to AA correspondent, stated that he had performed with Üstekin in 1980 and said, “She would come to our tours and join us from time to time. She was a very elegant lady. She was a very good actress. May she rest in peace.”
Actor Ulvi Alacakaptan stated that he started professional acting at the same time as Üstekin, and said, “I was at Dostlar Tiyatro and he was at LCC. Great actors came out of LCC. Sevil was one of them. You want to watch some actors play whatever they play. Sevil was one of them. She was a natural actress. She was one of the silent celebrities.”
Drawing attention to the fact that Yeşilçam is experiencing leaf fall, Alacakaptan underlined that actors should embrace the art of theatre.
The artist was buried in Merkezefendi Cemetery after the funeral prayer.

Having graduated from Üsküdar American Girls High School, Üstekin studied for 3 years at the private theater school LCC, headed by Muhsin Ertuğrul.
The master actor worked in Bizim Theatre, Gazete Theatre, Ali Poyrazoğlu Theatre, Gülriz Sururi- Engin Cezzar Theatre, Nisa Serezli-Tolga Aşkıner Theatre, Dostlar Theatre, Şan Theatre and Dormen Theatre.
Sevil Üstekin won the memory of movie lovers with the characters she portrayed in the movies “Kapıcılar Kral” and “Şaban Oğlu Şaban”.
