A group of scientists has announced the results of a long-term study that covered 204 countries and assessed mortality from various diseases over the past 30 years.
Publika.az reports that the study was published in “The Lancet” magazine.
Scientists have noted that the average life expectancy in the world has decreased due to the consequences of the pandemic. But now this number is increasing.
According to the data until 2019, the list of the most dangerous diseases includes:
- Coronary heart disease
- İnsult
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Respiratory tract infections
- Neonatal problems (death in the first month of life)
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Lung cancer
- Diabetes
- Kidney disease
- Intestinal infections
This list was compiled after the COVID-19 pandemic. Diseases specific to aging are also rising in the ranking. For example, there is still no effective treatment for Alzheimer’s disease, which leads to tragic consequences.
