Taliban authorities in Afghanistan have detained a woman who accused a former Taliban commander of torture and rape.

This arrest took place when the woman tried to escape to Pakistan.

Al-Arabiya Urdu has reported with reference to sources that the woman was arrested at a check post while trying to go to Pakistan and transferred back to Kabul where she will be tried in a Taliban court.

Two days ago in Afghanistan, a video of a woman surfaced on social media, in which she can be seen complaining against a former Taliban commander, Qari Saeed Khosti.

After the video came out, there has been a strong reaction against the Taliban commander.

Beating, rape and detention

Ilha Dilawarzi is a medical student at Kabul University and the daughter of one of the former generals of the Afghan security forces. According to the Associated Press (AP), the woman, who identified herself only by her first name ‘Ilaha’, cried in the video of former Taliban interior ministry spokesman Qari Saeed Khosti being tortured and raped. Alleges.

The woman said she was speaking from an apartment in the capital, Kabul, where she was detained by members of the Taliban after she tried to flee the country, begging for her release.

She identified herself as a medical student at Kabul University and said her father had served as a general in the intelligence service of the previous government.

An Afghan citizen shared his video on Twitter.

Trying to escape to Pakistan

The woman said that Qari Saeed Khosti had forcibly married her six months ago, when he was the official spokesperson.

“I tried to escape to neighboring Pakistan, but the Taliban arrested me at a border crossing and brought me back to Kabul and locked me in an apartment there,” he said.

Arrest and Punishment

On the other hand, Qari Saeed Khosti has denied these allegations on Twitter and his colleagues are calling it a ‘conspiracy against the Taliban’.

Khosti confirmed in his tweets on Wednesday that he had married ‘Ilaha’ and then divorced her, but denied abusing her.

In his tweets, he said that he married the woman six months ago on her request. ‘After that I saw that he had a problem of faith. I tried to correct their beliefs by exhortation and argument but to no avail, until they clearly blasphemed the holy things.’

He denied abusing the woman, saying: ‘I exercised my legal right and divorced her. I apologize to the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan people. God forgive me.’

On the other hand, a day after the video clip came out, Tehreek-e-Taliban has announced that they have arrested ‘Ilaha’. The ‘Taliban-run Supreme Court’ said in a tweet late on Wednesday that he had been arrested on charges of ‘defamation’ on the order of Chief Justice Abdul Hakeem Haqqani.

There was no mention of an ongoing case against the woman, uh, only that she would be ‘sentenced shortly.’

Khosti was sacked as the movement’s official spokesperson in recent days, but his new role is unclear.

Dr Ahmad Sarmast, founder of Afghanistan’s National Institute of Music, wrote in a tweet: ‘I call on the international community and human rights organizations to provide protection to Elha, who is being sexually harassed by the Taliban and She was forced to marry her rapist. He is in danger of death.’

The body of the kidnapped doctor

On the other hand, the Afghanistan Medical Council says that the body of Dr. Alkozai, who was abducted by unknown persons, has been found.

Alkozai was a gynecologist at a 102-bed hospital in Khairkhana area.

The council wrote on its Facebook page that ‘Dr. Shukari Alkozai has been shot dead by unknown persons. His body was found yesterday.’

According to BBC Pashto, he was taken from his home and abducted on the pretext of treating a patient last Thursday.

A Kabul Police officer told Pajhwok News Agency that the police found the body of Dr. Shukari Al-Quzai in a sack in an uninhabited house in Khairkhana Mina area.

Officials say they are trying to find the people involved in the incident. It is not yet known who killed the female doctor and why.
