Eurostat’s announcement of food inflation in our country in June at 1% is another positive sign of falling prices, the Ministry of Development and Investments says in a statement.

In more detail, he notes that the effort to de-escalate inflation in both food and services will be continuous, as our main priority is to increase the disposable income of citizens.

In this direction they turn:

– The continuous support from the Government of the project and the role of the Independent Competition Authority as a guarantee for truly free competition for the benefit of consumers.

– The strengthening of control mechanisms by strengthening DIMEA and the cooperation of the Ministry of Development with the Regional Governors and the services of the Regions, so that controls for the implementation of measures against profiteering are intensified and extended throughout the country.

– The increase in the upper limits of the fines, from 1 million euros to 5 million euros for the violation of the provisions of the ceiling and from 2 million euros to 6 million euros for the violation of the provisions on the prohibition of promotional actions when there has been a previous revaluation.

– The strengthening of consumers, as the upgrade of the e-katanalotis platform enables every citizen to create his personal basket of products and see through a map in which stores near his home he can buy them cheaper.

We continue with all our strength to support the average Greek family and all households to meet their needs, concludes the ministry’s announcement.
