Oscar Perez: “Maduro is a psychopath who does not understand that he has been left without a people”

The partial recognition of Edmundo González Urrutia as the winner of the presidential elections in Venezuela on July 28 raises the need to carry out negotiations for a peaceful solution to the crisis that is taking place in the country.

This was the opinion of Oscar Perez Torres, former deputy and president of the NGO Venezuelan Union in Peru.

He also highlighted Peru’s statement in support of the electoral process.

«Peru was the first to say ‘here, there is something wrong’, and it was a wake-up call that, through its foreign minister, made the world react practically to what was happening in Venezuela. We have seen more balanced positions from governments that are ideologically closer to Maduro and that, obviously, tells us that the table is set for a possible negotiation,” he said.
