Vienna (OTS) The “Wien heute” summer discussion series focuses on the future challenges of a growing metropolis and the impact on the everyday lives of Viennese people. The interviews can be seen weekly from Saturday, July 20th to Saturday, August 31st, 2024, in the news magazine “Wien heute” (daily from 7 p.m., ORF 2 W and ORF ON).

The focus is on exciting and controversial topics that will shape the city of tomorrow. Climate researcher Marc Olefs, education expert Mario Steiner, urban planner Rudolf Scheuvens, robotics expert Markus Vincze, cultural scientist Cornelia Dlabaja, the technical director of Wiener Linien Gudrun Senk and the expert on new working models Lena Marie Glaser are guests.

How will climate change affect the city and its residents, what tasks will robots take over for us, how sustainable is public transport, which transports more than two million people every day, how do you plan new urban districts, how crisis-proof is city tourism and how socially just is the education system?

With the seven-part summer discussion series, the “Vienna Today” editorial team wants to take a look at “Vienna Tomorrow” starting on July 20, 2024 and give viewers insights into scientific findings and suggestions that often also form the basis for political decisions.
