New Delhi (Vishvas News). In a video viral on various social media platforms, a tractor rider can be seen breaking a statue. This 58-second video is being shared with the claim that the statue of Lord Ram has been damaged under the Congress rule in Karnataka.
Vishwas News investigated the viral post in detail. Used many online tools. In the investigation, we found it to be false. The video going viral is not from Karnataka, but an old video from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.
Actually, in January 2024, there was a dispute in Ujjain district over the installation of the statues of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. One party wanted to install the statue of Ambedkar, while the other party installed the statue of Patel. After this there was a dispute. Some people broke the statue of Sardar Patel. Now the video related to the same incident is being made viral with communal claims by claiming it to be from Karnataka.

Facebook user Chandradeo B Singh Tomar On September 3, he posted a video and wrote, “Hindus of Karnataka defeated the BJP government and formed the Congress government. Vishvas News started the investigation by scanning the viral video. The people seen in the video are wearing woolen clothes. This means that the incident in the viral video happened in the winter season.
Taking the investigation forward, Vishwas News extracted several key frames of the viral video. Then started searching them with the help of Google Lens tool. We found clips related to the viral video in many news reports.
A YouTube channel named MP Tak reported on January 25, 2024, “There was a lot of uproar in Ujjain, the home district of Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav. Here the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was brutally broken. The statue was dropped from a tractor. After this incident, the other side also got angry. There was a lot of uproar. Some vehicles were also burnt. During the time when the statue was being broken, the police were also present there. But they were seen standing with folded hands in front of the miscreants. Women also participated enthusiastically in breaking the statue.”
During a Google search, we found a news on Naiduniya.com. This news, published on 25 January 2024, said, “A dispute broke out over the damage to the statue of Sardar Patel in the Makdon area of Ujjain district. After a fierce dispute between the two sides, there was stone pelting. During this, some vehicles were also burnt. One side wanted to install the statue of the Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, but the other side installed the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. After this, a dispute arose.”

Vishwas News furthered the investigation and contacted Suryanarayan Mishra, Bureau Chief of Naiduniya, Ujjain. Giving information, he told that the incident in the viral post is from Makdon area of Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh in January 2024. During a dispute between two parties, the statue of Sardar Patel was toppled by a tractor. In this case, the police took action by arresting 22 accused.
Finally, social scanning of Facebook user Chandradeo B Singh Tomar was done. It was found that the user lives in Bhopal. More than a thousand people follow his account.
Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the video of the incident in Ujjain is being falsely circulated as that of Karnataka. In January 2024, some people in Ujjain vandalised the statue of Sardar Patel had caused damage to.
