Breath T-70 brings ‘breath’ to the forests in Ula

MUĞLA – The ‘Nefes T-70’ firefighting helicopter, which intervened in the forest fire that broke out in the Ula district of Muğla, is playing an effective role in combating the flames.

The forest fire, which started at noon in the Yeniköy Neighborhood of Ula district, has grown rapidly due to the wind and spread to a wide area. The fire is being intensively fought from air and land. Fire-fighting helicopters and planes dispatched to the region are working non-stop to bring the rapidly growing flames under control.

The domestic and national ‘Nefes T-70’ firefighting helicopter, which was included in the inventory of the General Directorate of Forestry last year and was jointly produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. and Skorsky and is the first firefighting helicopter in the inventory of the General Directorate of Forestry, is also on duty in the Ula fire. While there was heavy air traffic in the fire area, the moments when the ‘Nefes T-70’ helicopter was taking water from the water source were captured on camera.

While the helicopter delivered to OGM last year played an important role in fighting fires, its performance in the fire intervention once again reveals how effective domestic and national production is in fighting forest fires.

Efforts to bring the fire under control are continuing at full speed with interventions from both land and air.
