Earthquake Drill Held in Elazığ and Diyarbakır

The drill, which was conducted in the Karlıova district of Bingöl with a 7.5 magnitude earthquake scenario, continued in Elazığ and Diyarbakır. In the coordination meeting held in Elazığ, necessary interventions were made in the regions affected by the earthquake as per the scenario. Governor Numan Hatipoğlu, 8th Corps and Garrison Commander Major General Tamer Atay, Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları and Provincial Disaster and Emergency Coordination Board members attended the meeting. Governor Numan Hatipoğlu, who directed the drill, received detailed information from the district governors affected by the disaster about the effects of the earthquake and the ongoing work.

EARTHQUAKE DRILL IN DIYARBAKIR

In Diyarbakır, Provincial and District Disaster Management Centers were established by the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency under the coordination of the governorships and district governorships. In the drill, information was received by the coordination center that a total of 5 buildings in the earthquake-affected districts of Dicle, Hani and Lice in Diyarbakır had completely collapsed. Diyarbakır Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, Deputy Governor Fatih Ayaz, Provincial Police Chief Fatih Kaya, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Selçuk Yıldırım and high-level representatives of the Disaster Group attended the meeting. Governor Zorluoğlu, who chaired the meeting at the Disaster Coordination Center, said, “Our board members came to our center within the specified time, we thank them. Now, district disaster management centers have been established in Dicle, Hani and Lice districts through our district governors. On the other hand, following the earthquake, personnel and vehicles were assigned to our districts from Diyarbakır Center. In this context, 53 personnel and 9 vehicles were assigned to Dicle district, 91 personnel and 17 vehicles were assigned to Hani district and 32 personnel and 7 vehicles were assigned to Lice district.”
