On October 6, Tierschutz Austria, Vegane Gesellschaft, and Team VEGAN.AT invite you again to participate in sporting activities for animals
Vösendorf (OTS) – In autumn, the popular animal protection run will take place for the 13th time on Prater Hauptallee. More than 1,000 professional runners, amateur athletes and animal lovers who are committed to the good cause are looking forward to this fixed point in the Vienna running calendar again this year. In the main competitions, either five or ten kilometers are run along Hauptallee.
Running in different competitions
On the first Sunday in October, running and Nordic walking enthusiasts of all ages can run 100 meters to 10 kilometers. Like last year, the event is part of the Wienläuft Cup, the largest running initiative in the city of Vienna. By taking part in the animal protection run, valuable points can be collected for the overall ranking of the cup. The start and finish area are on the Prater Hauptallee: The fast AIMS-measured route leads towards the Lusthaus with a detour into Lusthausstrasse. The lap for the 10-kilometer run is completed twice.
Program and training offers for a successful run
For anyone who would like to familiarize themselves with the route, the sports club Team VEGAN.AT offers guided preparatory runs. Those interested can take part in free running training sessions with certified trainers on four dates. In addition to the runs, participants can expect a varied supporting program with plant-based food, information stands on animal welfare topics, a children’s tent and live DJ music. All proceeds go to the Vegan Society’s projects, thereby supporting important animal welfare work.

100m kids’ race: 0-7 years, free, start 11:30 a.m. (starting numbers are made by yourself, no start number collection necessary!)
850m school run 8-13 years, Warm Up: 11:45 am, Start: 12:00 pm
5km and 10km main races, warm up: 1:15 p.m., start: 1:30 p.m.
5km Nordic Walk, Warm Up: 1:15 p.m., Start: 1:40 p.m.
Preparatory runs
No pre-registration necessary, free of charge
Dates: 11, 18, 25 September and 2 October (every Wednesday)
Time: 19:00
