Recent polls showed Joe Biden losing important states to Donald Trump, while Kamala Harris was leading or on par in other states compared to the former president.

Taking advantage of President Biden’s reported case of Covid-19 last week, Harris held rallies in Michigan and North Carolina, where she was greeted by an energetic crowd.

Harris’ position as vice president, according to The Hill, offers her advantages as a presidential candidate, having already been on the ballot in the 2020 election and in the internal process of the Democratic Party this year; having campaigned for months in states that can vote for either party; has been the face of the campaign to guarantee access to abortion; and she is the only candidate who can access the resources raised by the Biden-Harris campaign so far.
