Beyonce Lets Kamala Harris Use ‘Freedom’ Song for Her Presidential Campaign

JAKARTA – Beyonce has given Kamala Harris official permission to use her hit song “Freedom” as part of her presidential campaign. The decision marks a symbolic endorsement from the superstar for the US Vice President.

Reported by CNN, Tuesday (23/7/2024), this moment was also seen when Kamala Harris visited his campaign headquarters on Monday, July 22, 2024 for the first time. He walked out to Beyonce’s song, Freedom.

A source said that Harris and her team have received approval from Beyonce’s representatives to use the song throughout her presidential campaign. The 42-year-old singer is known for having strict permission guidelines for her songs.

But this time, Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter gave Harris’ campaign a quick nod when they asked for permission to use Freedom on Monday. That was just hours before Harris stepped out to the song.

While the Halo singer has not officially endorsed Harris since President Joe Biden announced he would not seek a second term, granting her permission to use Freedom as a campaign song suggests Harris has the star’s support.

On the other hand, Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, is known to have supported Harris in the 2024 US Presidential Election, shortly after Biden’s announcement.

“New, Young, Sharp, energy!!!!” wrote Tina Knowles who uploaded a photo of herself on Instagram with Harris.

“Put aside personal ego, power, and fame. That is the definition of a great leader. Thank you, President Biden for your service and leadership. Forward to Vice President Kamala Harris as President. Let’s go!” he continued.
